CULTURE of India

Culture in India has always been an integral part. Indian culture is the most ancient. So culture means the customs and rituals followed by a particular people in society. It also encompasses knowledge and behavior under its feathers. It may be referred to as a process of purification. If we call it human culture its main theme is connecting with the efflorescence or developments by which a person can get purification of the inner self. Culture means the inner consciousness of a person and it is reflected outwardly as well. We behave same way outwardly as inside. Whatever whether be it our behaviors or social relations are a part of ourselves within. So culture is an umbrella term encompassing the culture of the nation, the culture of a particular group or the whole humanity. Each individual has a different thinking pattern and it is independent. In spite of these differences a broader interest binds people together into a community or nationality. Culture is an object of time travel and it travels from one age to another. It cannot be destroyed by the time waves. What we react to our outer atmosphere and people not belonging to our culture speaks about our cultural identity. We all have a particular way of reacting to situations. It reflects our culture.
All our reactions to the world outside to whatever they are doing are a product of our culture. We express our views in respect of natural or social history. All our reactions are subject to variation. But a few general reactions remain common laying the foundation of a community. Cultures can be individual or collective. India is a land of millions of people and the interface of different cultures. Each person in a country may have different thinking pattern but Indians are believed to be thinking in a general pattern.
The commonness thrives and that's what Indian culture is. Culture creates profundity of thought. Culture gives the outlook to life. Our thinking neurons act in three different ways namely:
1. Thinking about our own self in one way or the other as we tend to give more importance to ourselves. Our existence is not ignorable. It is our first thought. This is subjectivity.
2.Then we think of our society. This includes the people outside our own self and nature. This is objectivity.
3. Then thirdly we do a concomitant thinking. We remain pre occupied with our self and the people surrounding us. We have very less time to think of other things but this eventually rises when we become dissatisfied with both.
If we are satisfied with ourselves and people around we won't be having the third thinking pattern. We would only have with and without. There would be only subject and object. During the youth ages we tend to behave with audacity and do not follow our elders. Cultural values do not refer to subjective values. It means a harmonious way of thinking and not just a random thought.
Even communities and nations are built on these thoughts and a nation thinks in one way only. So cultural thoughts rise above pure objectivity and pure subjectivity. So being a cultured person is not easy and it defines our personality. Education is not same as culture. Education is the information giving about things but culture refines one's personality. Education might be a medium for making a person cultured. Nowadays education is very limited whether on any discipline.
Being cultured means to be human and rising above the subjective way of thinking. A cultured person can be called a super-individual as they rise above the ordinary shackles of human. Eating is our fundamental need but we even starve ourselves for the sake of our self-respect. We tend to feel important and we would not like if we are nobody. We want to get respect and it is our basic need. But a cultured person rises above these basic instincts. In this way we can call the human beings unselfish as they are capable to love others as they love themselves and this is the basic idea behind a cultured person that he is able to treat others in the way he treats himself. We expect others to behave in a certain way with us so we must also behave in a similar way with them in which we want us to be treated because this world rotates on a give and take policy. We are a part of the world and so if we behave ill with the world it returns the same thing back. The earthly body is of five elements namely earth, water, fire, air and ether.
So it makes us a part of nature as nature also comprises of these components. Same way we are a part of the society as well. Socialization means the ability to interact harmoniously. Disharmonious relations are antisocial relations. The harmony needed for the survival of people is socialization. For survival we need the company of other people. Everything mentioned is a part of cultural behavior whether social, psychological or philosophical. Culture is psychological as we are involved in it, it is sociological as other people are a part of it and it is philosophical as life is greater than our self and others. Culture includes social, psychological and philosophical areas.
Whether India or any other country culture differs and culture travels. Whether from any religion we have at least something in common. The patriotic feeling binds us in one nation and one culture. India's ancient culture can be seen in its rich heritage and its monuments. Though Yugs have circulated but they still stand high in the air.
This is symbolic of the fact that culture cannot be destroyed and it guides generations. Civilizations come to an end but culture flourishes whether it be it Harappa or Vedic cultures. It is culture that drives a man to his success and also destroys him. Whether we agree or not culture is eternal and shall never cease to be till when earth remains.
